Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Is an interpreter required?

Public Entities are legally bound to provide language accommodations for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. Providing an interpreter allows for language access for Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients. According to the A.D.A. (Americans with Disabilities Act), organizations must provide reasonable accommodations for the disabled, including those of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities. Sign Language Interpreting is one of those reasonable accommodations. Every American citizen has the right to full access to communication and opportunities. Working with an ASL interpreting agency allows you to easily comply with ADA requirements and provide equal access for your Deaf and Hard of Hearing consumers.
